Travis Barker (born November 14, 1975) is an American musician, producer, and the drummer for the band Blink-182, as well as The Transplants.
After the passing of his first punk rock band, Feeble, Barker began playing for The Aquabats in 1996 as The Baron Von Tito. He recorded one album with them, The Fury of the Aquabats!, in 1997. His career took off when he joined up with pop punk band, Blink-182 in 1998. Barker became known for his mohawk and his tendency to perform shirtless, revealing a multitude of tattoos. Barker has since established himself as a versatile drummer, producing and making guest appearances in music projects of numerous music genres including hip-hop, punk rock, alternative rock, skate punk, pop and even country. He has gained significant acceptance within the hip-hop community in particular and often collaborates with artists to compose rock-tinged remixes to their songs.[1]
He founded clothing company Famous Stars and Straps in 1999 and LaSalle Records in 2004. Companies such as DC Shoes and Zildjian cymbals have co-designed products in his name.

In 1996, Barker began touring with The Aquabats, and under the stage name "The Baron Von Tito". Blink-182 was also on the bill, and when then-drummer Scott Raynor was removed from the band, Barker was asked to fill in. This required him to learn the entire set (over 20 songs) in less than two hours and perform them at that night's show, in addition to playing a set with The Aquabats. His efforts earned him an offer to join Blink-182, which Barker accepted.
With Barker, Blink-182 released their best selling album to date, Enema of the State (1999), followed by Take off Your Pants and Jacket (2001), and Blink-182 (2003). After Barker drummed for Blink-182 for seven years, the band split up in February 2005.
In an interview with TMZ, regarding a reunion, Barker states "We're all friends" and "Everyone's getting along pretty good."[2]
At the 51st Grammy Awards, while announcing the award for Rock Album of The Year, Blink-182 announced they were getting back together. This was the first step towards Blink's current status.
Barker and Blink-182 have finished a 50 date North American tour and will release a new album in 2010 and also start their European tour. They played shows including Hartford, D.C., Madison Square Garden, and Boston. During the tour Blink played with bands like Weezer, Fall Out Boy, Asher Roth, The All American Rejects, and Taking Back Sunday.
[edit]Side projects (2002–present)
Barker said he has always been interested in many genres of music outside punk rock, especially hip-hop. In a 2002 interview with MTV he said, "I probably listen to more hip-hop and drum'n'bass than I do punk rock music, which basically means I'm nothing but a douchebag poser.".[3] Not being able to explore these interests within Blink-182, Barker participated in two hip hop related side projects during that the time: Transplants and Expensive Taste.
Box Car Racer is a side project begun with Tom DeLonge of Blink-182 in 2002. This project resulted in one self-titled album which was released that year. DeLonge said he asked Barker to play drums so that he wouldn't have to find and pay a session drummer to come in.
Transplants is a hip-hop induced punk band for which Barker partnered with Tim Armstrong of Rancid and Rob Aston (former roadie for Rancid). Transplants released two studio records as well as a remixed version of their second album which was chopped and screwed by rapper and hip-hop artist, Paul Wall.[4] The first album released by Transplants was their self-titled album in 2002. The second Transplants record, Haunted Cities, was released by LaSalle Records in June 2005. After the Vans Warped Tour of 2005, the members decided to disband. This was confirmed by vocalist Rob Aston in January 2006 during an interview.[citation needed] In January 2010, Barker announced that the Transplants would reform for new material.[5]

He was best friends with the late DJ AM, Adam Goldstein.
Barker has produced or worked on albums with the Black Eyed Peas, Pink and Pharrell. He appears on Bun B's album, Trill (2005) with Skinhead Rob for the bonus track, "Late Night Creepin'". In 2006 he was a producer on T.I.'s fourth album, King. Also in 2006 he played drums for several songs on Avril Lavigne's third album, "The Best Damn Thing".[6] He also dueted with Rihanna on a remix of her hit "Umbrella", he also appeared in her video. Barker also had a remix with the Rap artist Eminem, on the song 3 A.M.
In late 2005 Barker started a new band, +44 with fellow Blink-182 member Mark Hoppus. +44 only released one studio album, When Your Heart Stops Beating. They played several tour dates with Fall Out Boy, Taking Back Sunday, and Cobra Starship.
In 2006, he and Rob Aston joined Paul Wall in forming a new hip hop group called Expensive Taste.
Barker made a very well received remix of Soulja Boy's "Crank That". In a similar fashion to the Soulja Boy remix, he has also remixed Flo Rida's single "Low" that was later included within the deluxe version of Flo Rida's debut album. Barker is a playable character in Guitar Hero: World Tour and his remix of "Low" is available as downloadable content. Barker is also featured on The Game's latest album, L.A.X., drumming on the song "Dope Boys".
He was the drummer for all of the performers at the MTV Video Music Awards of 2008, including Kid Rock and LL Cool J.
In August 2009, Matt Sorum revealed that Barker will appear on Slash, Slash's upcoming solo album.[7]
In June 2009, he played drums in the BET Awards for Jamie Foxx's performance of "Blame It".
In November 2009, Barker made a remix with hip-hop artist Drake's song "Forever", featuring Eminem, Lil Wayne and Kanye West.
In January 2010, Barker announced of a new remix of Snoop Dogg's new single, "I Wanna Rock" via his Twitter account.
In February 2010, Steve Vai mentioned in his newsletter and website that now he's working on a version of Stairway to Heaven for Mary J. Blige with Travis Barker on drums, Orianthi on guitar, and Randy Jackson on bass. The song appears on the UK version of Blige's album Stronger with Each Tear.
In February 2010, it was announced that Travis Barker will work with A-Trak for club shows such as he did with DJ AM. The first shows will take place on March 9 and 10 at The Roxy in West Hollywood.[8]
On February 2nd, 2010, Lil Wayne's rock debut album; Rebirth was released. It features a track entitled "One Way Trip" which is featuring Kevin Rudolf that shows the friendship between Travis and Lil Wayne, with one of the lyrics being "... And T. Barker is my drummer motherf***er..."
It was announced on February 12th that Barker was working on his first solo album. Guests featured are set to include Corey Taylor of Slipknot, and hip hop artists such as Lil Wayne, RZA, The Game, Rick Ross, and Beanie Sigel. Barker has said the album will have "no one genre".[9]

Barker's marriage to former Miss USA Shanna Moakler was featured in MTV's Meet the Barkers (2005–2006). His marriage and personal life have been considerable media fodder following his divorce and a brief relationship with Hilton Hotel heiress Paris Hilton in 2006.[10] In early 2009, Barker and Moakler decided to get back together.[11] On April 1, 2009, reps for both Barker and Moakler confirmed they had split following an argument at their home which required police attention. The argument was said to be caused after Barker confronted Moakler about her allegedly having an affair with Gerard Butler while he was recovering from his plane crash. Moakler's reps deny any reports of an affair.[12]
Barker also has a vast and unique collection of ghetto blasters and is a self-proclaimed car enthusiast.[13]

On September 19, 2008, Barker was injured when the Learjet 60 in which he was a passenger crashed outside Columbia, South Carolina.[14] The jet was headed for Van Nuys, California.[15] According to the Federal Aviation Administration; the plane was departing the airport when air traffic controllers saw sparks emanating from the plane. It went off the runway, smashed through a fence, crossed a nearby road, slammed into an embankment and caught fire.[15][16] Barker had performed the night before at an event with former Jane's Addiction singer Perry Farrell, Gavin DeGraw and DJ AM.[14] Barker was transported to the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta, Georgia, where he was listed in critical condition.[14] DJ AM and John Blasph were also injured in the crash, with DJ AM listed in critical condition.[14] Four others were killed in the crash, three males and one female. With autopsies being performed to identify the bodies,[17] two of the deceased were crew members, and two were passengers, including Chris Baker, Barker's personal assistant who often appeared in Meet The Barkers,[14] and Charles Still, Barker's security guard.[18] On September 21, Dr. Fred Mullins, medical director of the Burn Center reported that Barker sustained second and third degree burns on his lower body and torso and was expected to fully recover within a year.[19] Barker stopped his vegetarian diet and began eating meat to increase his protein intake and possibly speed up healing of his burns.[20]
Barker survived the incident, enabling him to return to the recording studio in November 2008 with long time friend and Keys to the Cadillac drummer Mike Barbalaci. On his first television interview since the crash, he said to MTV, "I'm already playing my drums again, and I'm already back in the studio". Elaborating by stating that the return to the studio "was like riding a bike. It was really exciting to know I still have my chops. It still felt good... I still can make it around the kit. Everything felt right, so I'm thankful to be able to play."[21]
Barker sued the plane's owners, Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., and an airplane maintenance company on November 21, 2008. He sought more than $25,000 in damages "for pain and suffering, disfigurement, loss of earnings, and medical and legal expenses", claiming that the companies had "improperly operated and maintained the Learjet". The lawsuit claims the Learjet's pilots were "improperly trained and should not have tried to take off rather than continue down the runway. The mother of Barker's bodyguard, Charles Monroe Still Jr., who was killed in the crash, joined the lawsuit. She sued the companies for "damages including grief and sorrow, funeral expenses and loss of earnings."[22] The court case was settled in December 2009, with lawyer William L. Robinson, who represented some of the companies, saying the terms of the settlement are confidential.[23]
On December 1, 2008, TV Guide reported that Barker would make his first appearance with DJ AM (Adam Goldstein) since the two survived the plane crash. The duo performed at New Year's Nation's[24] Los Angeles New Year's Eve Party at The Wiltern.[25][26] Their performance was streamed live on the Internet via New Year's Nation's official site, and broadcast at other New Year's Nation parties across the US.[27][28][29] Of the gig, Barker told press, "I'm ready to get back onstage with AM and continue to rock the house. I'm very excited to bring in the New Year in my hometown of L.A."[30][31] DJ AM died on August 28, 2009 of an accidental drug overdose in his New York City apartment.

Barker owns and contributes to several businesses in addition to his musical interests. He founded an accessory/apparel company called Famous Stars and Straps in 1999 which sells street/skate style clothing and gear. Barker has said the brand's trademark "F" for the logo was chosen for its resemblance to a car logo but mainly for the fact that it can stand on its own. Barker is also business partners with famous skateboarder Rob Dyrdek and together they are part of the team that own the clothing label named Rogue Status, and in 2009 another label called DTA.
He co-founded LaSalle Records, a record company to which his band, Transplants, are signed.[34] He has dabbled in the restaurant industry, opening a Wahoo's Fish Taco restaurant in Norco, California.[35]
Barker has developed a shoe for DC Shoe Company called the "Alias Remix" and is endorsed by Orange County Drum and Percussion and Zildjian. He also has his own line of drumming products, sponsored by Zildjian.[36]
[edit]Tattoos
Barker's first tattoo was the word "BONES" (a nickname when he was a kid) on his leg which he got when he was 17 years old.[37] Another addition is the phrase "SELF MADE" spelled out across his knuckles which he got in 2000.[37] Some of his numerous tattoos include religious art as he says he was brought up Catholic.[37] He has a portrait of Jesus and a crucifix above his left biceps, a portrait of the Virgin Mary on his right arm, hands in prayer on the left side of his head (visible with his signature mohawk) and a Sacred Heart[38][39]. Barker has a few tattoos that symbolize his love for cars and Cadillacs in particular – two racing flags on the side of his neck with the number 66 which symbolizes the year of his favorite Cadillac and a Cadillac emblem surrounded by mudflap girls on his chest as well as a pair of spark plugs.[37] Another well known Cadillac tattoo is the word "Cadillac" on the side of his body. Also, the front of his neck has a portrait of Marilyn Monroe.
Much of his body art is devoted to his love of music such as the phrase "Can I Say" (which is the name of Dag Nasty's first album), a microphone, and a boom box on his stomach for his love of breakdancing when he was growing up.[37] Barker also has the word "HOPE" on his back because of the Descendents' song and something positive after his mother's death. He has another tribute to the Descendents on his leg – the cover art to the album, I Don't Want to Grow Up, drumsticks and musical notes on his right arm.
Barker also makes several tributes to his family with the phrase "familia" on his arm, Japanese flowers on the back of his neck with a heart that says "Mom", and another heart with "SHANNA" on the banner.[37] He also has the name of his first wife, "Melissa," just above the racing flags on the side of his neck. Barker has his son's name Landon on his left wrist.
He considers his right arm his good luck arm and so has many luck emblems tattooed on that arm such as a deck of cards, dice, a dollar sign, his lucky number seven, a skull with the number 13 in the eye sockets (13 is a lucky number in the tattoo culture), and a rabbit's foot, in addition to a martini glass, his initials, a devil from Black Label Skateboards, and a spider web surrounding his elbow.[37]
Barker has a tattoo-quote by Henry Brooks Adams stating "Chaos Often Breeds Life, When Order Breeds Habit"; the quote is tattooed around Barker's neck, and can also be found on the spine of the Box Car Racer CD case.
In explanation of his large number of tattoos Barker has said, "I tattooed my body so I couldn't fall back on anything. I purposely did that so I couldn't get a normal job and live a normal life. I did it so I had to play music."[citation needed] He claims to have spent over $30,000 on his body art.[40]

Barker has been married twice. He first married his long time girlfriend, Melissa Kennedy, on September 22, 2001. The couple divorced August 6, 2002 after eleven months of marriage.
Barker married actress and Miss USA 1995, Shanna Moakler, on October 30, 2004. The couple had a Gothic-style ceremony inspired by the Tim Burton film, The Nightmare Before Christmas, which was held on the eve of Halloween.[41] Barker and Moakler have two children together, Landon Asher and Alabama Luella. Atiana Cecilia de la Hoya is Moakler's daughter with former boyfriend Oscar de la Hoya. The family appeared in a reality television series, Meet the Barkers, which aired on MTV from 2005–2006.
On August 8, 2006, Barker filed for divorce from Moakler after nearly two years of marriage.[42][43] The couple's divorce was made public as each used their MySpace pages to air their feelings on the matter.[44] During their separation, Barker had a brief fling with Paris Hilton in September, 2006.[45]
Despite their pending divorce, reports surfaced in early 2007 that Barker and Moakler were "quietly trying to give it another go" as they were reportedly seen autographing a fan's book, with a heart around their names.[46]
In March 2007, Moakler revealed to People magazine that she and Barker (still married) were back together, but denied that she was pregnant.[47] This admission came after the couple were publicly affectionate at a surprise birthday Barker threw for his wife in Miami.[47] People.com later reported that the couple had separated again. No reason was given for the split. Barker and Moakler were seen together at the 2007 Video Music Awards kissing and holding hands. However, as of February 11, 2008, the couple's divorce had been finalized.[48]
Barker and Moakler were together during a DJ set Barker was playing with DJ AM in Las Vegas on January 7, 2009.[49] The couple attempted to rekindle their relationship in early 2009 but announced that they were no longer together on April 1, 2009, amid reports that police had been called to their home after a fight; no charges were filed against either party.[12]

Travis has appeared in numerous films and television shows, most notably his own reality show, Meet the Barkers, with his ex-wife Shanna Moakler which debuted in 2005. However, Barker can be found in a brief scene with blink-182 in the teen movie, American Pie. In 2003, he appeared in an episode of MTV's Punk'd, a Candid Camera-esque television show, in which he took part in a set up bareknuckle boxing match; he also appeared and spoke alongside Linkin Park-vocalist Chester Bennington on MTV's Icon show honoring heavy metal band Metallica in May of that year.
In 2006 Barker starred in a Boost Mobile commercial,[50] which was detailed in an episode of Meet the Barkers. He's also played a few guest starring roles such as a rapper on the popular crime drama, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. In 2001, he appeared with Tom Delonge and Mark Hoppus in the skit "Leave it to Blink-182", a parody of "Leave It to Beaver", on the late night TV show MADtv.[51]
In a slight departure from his usual genres, he made an appearance on the 41st annual CMA Awards in 2006, performing a medley of songs by country icon Buck Owens with a group of artists including Dwight Yoakam, ZZ Top guitarist Billy Gibbons, and former Byrds bass player Chris Hillman.[52]

Rancid is an American punk rock band from Albany, California, formed in 1991. Founded by Matt Freeman and Tim Armstrong, both of whom previously played in ska punk group Operation Ivy, the band is credited with helping to revive mainstream popular interest in punk rock in the United States during the mid-1990s.[2]
Rancid includes Armstrong on guitar and vocals, Freeman on bass and vocals, Lars Frederiksen on guitar and vocals, and Branden Steineckert on drums. The band was formed by Armstrong, Freeman, and former drummer Brett Reed, who left the band in 2006 and was replaced by Steineckert. Frederiksen joined Rancid in 1993 when the band was searching for a second guitar player.
To date, Rancid has released seven studio albums, one split, one compilation, two EPs, a series of live online-only albums, and has been featured on countless compilations.[3] The band rose to fame in 1994 with their second album, Let's Go, featuring the single "Salvation". In the following year, Rancid released their highly successful album ...And Out Come the Wolves, which produced their best-known hits "Roots Radicals", "Ruby Soho" and "Time Bomb", and was certified gold and platinum by the RIAA.[4] Their most recent studio album, Let the Dominoes Fall was released in June 2009.

Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman had been playing together in the influential[5] ska punk band Operation Ivy from 1987–1989. When Operation Ivy broke up they decided to form a new band, and started another ska punk band called Downfall, which only lasted a few months. They then started a hardcore punk group called Generator,[6] which also quickly broke up. They also started two other ska influenced bands, and Dance Hall Crashers, but moved on quickly from both. In 1991 Tim and Matt decided to try starting yet another band. They recruited drummer Brett Reed and formed Rancid.
Rancid's first recorded release was a 1992 EP for Operation Ivy's old label Lookout! Records. Shortly after releasing this, the band was signed to Bad Religion guitarist Brett Gurewitz's label, Epitaph Records. Rancid would release their self titled debut album for Epitaph in 1993.
[edit]Breakthrough success (1994–1996)
While Rancid was writing for a follow-up album, Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong, a friend of the band, joined them to co-write the song "Radio". Tim had previously asked Lars Frederiksen to be Rancid's second guitarist, but he turned down the request initially as he was playing with Charlie Harper's UK Subs at the time. Frederiksen later changed his mind and decided to join Rancid.
Frederiksen played with the band on 1994's Let's Go. That year their then-label-mates, The Offspring, experienced a huge success with their album Smash. The Offspring took Rancid on tour with them,[7] and helped Let's Go make it to #97 on Billboard's Heatseekers and Billboard 200 charts, respectively. With the success of the album the band was pursued by several major labels, including Madonna's Maverick Records.[8]
The band eventually decided to stay on Epitaph, and the next year released their third album ...And Out Come the Wolves. That album quickly surpassed Let's Go in terms of success. Three of the album's singles, "Roots Radicals", "Time Bomb", and "Ruby Soho" all charted on the North American Billboard Modern Rock Tracks, and the band performed two of these songs on Saturday Night Live.[9]
[edit]Middle years (1997–2003)
After two years of touring for ...And Out Come the Wolves, Rancid returned to the studio in 1997 to begin recording their fourth album, Life Won't Wait, which was released on June 30, 1998. The album branched out from Rancid's previous musical styles, and combined punk rock with elements of roots reggae, rockabilly, dub, hip-hop, and funk. Due to this it was often compared to The Clash's Sandinista!.[10] Unfortunately, the album was not as successful as ...And Out Come the Wolves, but has since garnered a strong cult following in recent times. In 1999, Rancid decided to end their seven year relationship with Epitaph and signed with Tim Armstrong's founded Hellcat Records (which was a division of Epitaph).
A second self-titled album was released in 2000 and would be their first release on Hellcat. The album failed to meet the success of Rancid's previous three albums and peaked at number 68 on the billboard charts.[11]
2002 saw Rancid's three original members release three songs under the name Devil's Brigade, one on the Give 'Em the Boot III compilation, and two on a 12" vinyl record. Also that year, all four members of the band played on BYO Split Series, Vol. 3, a split album with NOFX in which Rancid covered NOFX songs and NOFX covered Rancid songs.
After a break from touring in 2001, Rancid returned to the studio with Gurewitz in 2002 to record their sixth album, Indestructible, which was released on August 19, 2003. It featured the hit song "Fall Back Down", and was Rancid's highest charting album ever, peaking at number 15.[11]
Unlike all their previous albums, Indestructible was distributed by a major record label, Warner Bros. Records.[12].
[edit]Hiatus (2004–2005)
In 2004, after a tour for Indestructible, Rancid went on an extensive hiatus. The band members spent time working with side projects, although they had not officially disbanded.
Armstrong continued to play with his side project the Transplants, who released their second album, Haunted Cities, in 2005. He also contributed guitar and backup vocals on Cypress Hill's hit single "What's Your Number?" from their tenth album Till Death Do Us Part. He also released a solo album, A Poet's Life in May 2007.
Frederiksen continued working with his side band Lars Frederiksen and the Bastards and released its second album, Viking, in 2004, Tim Armstrong helped produce and write it.
Freeman briefly toured with Social Distortion in 2004 as John Maurer's replacement until they found their current bassist Brent Harding.
Matt and Lars both had kids during this time as well: Matt has two, and Lars has one. [13] [14].
[edit]Reformation and Let the Dominoes Fall (2006–present)
In early 2006, Rancid reunited to embark on a successful tour and played several acoustic sets as part of Hellcat Records' Hellcat Nights concert series at The Echo. This was the first time the band had played together since their hiatus. On April 13, 2006, Rancid announced plans for a worldwide tour beginning in July 2006, and the release of a DVD compiling 31 of their music videos, as well as a tentative release date of Spring 2007 for a new as-of-yet-unnamed studio album.
Like many other bands once on the Lookout! Records roster, in September 2006, Rancid pulled their self-titled EP from the catalog.[15]
On November 3, 2006, Reed left Rancid and was replaced by former Used drummer Branden Steineckert.
Rancid released a compilation album, B Sides and C Sides, on December 11, 2007. The album contains various B-sides, "C-sides", and songs from other compilations.
Rancid toured Japan in April 2008 for a handful of shows following their two days headlining the Punkspring 2008 festival.[16] Following the Japanese tour, Rancid embarked on a full scale U.S. tour during the summer and a UK winter tour.[17]
Rancid used to host a one hour once a week XM radio show. The show was called Rancid Radio and was on "Fungus" channel 53 Saturday at midnight. However, the show was cancelled due to Fungus 53 being pulled from XM's programming.
Rancid released their seventh LP, Let the Dominoes Fall on June 2, 2009. In late May, the full album was streamed from the band's MySpace page. This was their first album without the "classic" line-up, with Branden Steineckert replacing Brett Reed on drums in 2006. The record was written at Branden's Unknown Studios in Utah and was recorded at Skywalker Sound in Nicasio, California.[18] Music legend Booker T. Jones performed organ on one song.[18] A deluxe version of the album included the CD, some of the songs recorded acoustically on a separate CD, and a making of the album DVD.[19] To support the album, Rancid toured North America in the summer of 2009 with Rise Against, Riverboat Gamblers, and Billy Talent. The tour began on June 4, 2009 in Vancouver, British Columbia and ended in Toronto, Ontario on July 31.[20]
On June 10, 2009, the band appeared as the musical guest on The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien playing "Last One to Die" off of their new album.[21]

Rancid collaborated with reggae artist Buju Banton on the song "Misty Days"; which appeared on his album Unchained Spirit,. This was considered a controversial move by some, due to Banton's history of extreme homophobia. The song also appeared on Give 'em the Boot II without the reggae lines that Banton delivers in the Unchained Spirit version. The two artists also collaborated on 2 of Rancid's own songs - Life Won't Wait and Hooligans.
Rancid collaborated with Stubborn All-Stars on the song "I Wanna Riot" for the Beavis and Butt-Head Do America soundtrack. Both bands also collaborated for a live cover of "The Harder They Come" for the "Tibetan Freedom Concert". blink 182
Blink-182 is an American punk rock band from Poway, California, formed in 1992.[2] The band formed as "Blink" with vocalist and guitarist Tom DeLonge, vocalist and bassist Mark Hoppus and drummer Scott Raynor.[3] In 1998, midway through a U.S. tour, current drummer Travis Barker replaced Raynor. Blink-182 are recognised as a key pioneer of contemporary pop punk music, influencing various acts over their career.[4]
After releasing debut album Cheshire Cat (1994), the band achieved relative success with Dude Ranch (1997), now having sold over a million copies. However, the trio achieved even greater success with the multi-platinum selling Enema of the State (1999). Their following two albums maintained their popularity; Take Off Your Pants and Jacket (2001) and Blink-182 (2003) before DeLonge left the group in early 2005, initiating an indefinite hiatus. DeLonge went on to form Angels & Airwaves, while Hoppus and Barker continued playing music together in +44. On February 8, 2009, Blink-182 announced that they are continuing as a band, with the brief statement posted on their website saying "To put it simply, We're back. We mean, really back. Picking up where we left off and then some. In the studio writing and recording a new album."[5]

[edit]Formation and early releases: 1992-95
After being expelled from Poway High School, Tom DeLonge attended Rancho Bernardo High School where he became friends with Anne Hoppus. DeLonge often expressed wanting to be in a band, so in August 1992 Anne introduced him to her brother Mark Hoppus, who also wanted to be in a band.[6] The two played for hours in DeLonge's garage, showing each other songs they had previously written, and writing new songs together. One of these songs would eventually become what is now "Carousel".[7] That night the two decided they needed to officially start a band, so DeLonge recruited friend Scott Raynor, who he had met at his school's Battle of the Bands competition. The three began playing together and called themselves Duck Tape, until DeLonge thought of the name Blink.[7]
The band practiced constantly, which angered Hoppus's girlfriend.[7] She told him he had to choose between the band and her, so he left the band just as it was starting. DeLonge then informed Hoppus that he borrowed a 4-track from a friend and he and Raynor were using it to make a demo tape. Upon hearing this, Hoppus decided he would leave his girlfriend and return to the band.
In May 1993, the band recorded their first demo tape Flyswatter in Raynor's bedroom. A 4-track was used to record the material, which resulted in poor sound quality. According to Hoppus, only a small number of demos were released, primarily to their family and friends.[citation needed] The same year, the band recorded another demo tape, this one untitled and known simply as Demo #2. It featured re-recordings of a few Flyswatter songs, and also included new songs, some of which would go on to be re-recorded and re-released on the band's albums Buddha, Cheshire Cat, and Dude Ranch. Buddha was released on cassette in 1993 with around 1,000 copies of the tape produced by Filter Records, an independent record company headed by Hoppus's boss. It was remastered and re-released on Kung Fu Records in 1998 (with three of the original tracks omitted and two new tracks added).
In 1994, the band signed with Cargo Music and recorded their debut studio album Cheshire Cat in three days. The album contained a number of updated versions of songs such as "Carousel", "Strings", "Sometimes", and "T.V." that had appeared on the Buddha demo as well as some originals. "M+M's" and "Wasting Time" were released as singles, but both failed to chart. Shortly after the release of Cheshire Cat, the band was threatened with legal action by an Irish pop band of the same name. In order to avoid a legal dispute, the band appended "182" to the end of their name.[8] In 1994, the band released a split EP with Iconoclasts titled Short Bus. The 3-track EP They Came to Conquer... Uranus was released the next year.
[edit]Dude Ranch and Enema of the State: 1996–2000
After moving to Encinitas, California, the band recorded the album Dude Ranch in 1996 with producer Mark Trombino. Blink-182 recorded the album under Cargo Records, but signed with MCA in 1998 in order to handle increased distribution. The album was released in 1997 and was relatively commercially successful, selling 1.5 million copies worldwide. The single "Dammit" did well on U.S. modern rock charts, and the band received a small degree of mainstream success.
After the album's release, midway through a U.S. tour in 1998, drummer Scott Raynor left the band. Raynor had a serious drinking problem and was asked to go into rehab. Raynor claims he agreed to go to rehab, but that DeLonge and Hoppus were doubtful of his sincerity and subsequently fired him over the phone.[9] Hoppus and DeLonge asked drummer Travis Barker of Blink-182's support band The Aquabats to fill in for Raynor for the remainder of the tour. After the set, Hoppus and DeLonge sat down and discussed Barker joining the band. The next day he was offered the position and consequently left The Aquabats.
For the 1999 album Enema of the State, the band hired Jerry Finn as producer. The album propelled the band into the mainstream, generating the hit singles "What's My Age Again?", "All the Small Things" and "Adam's Song", and an incredible amount of airtime on radio and MTV. Enema of the State went on to sell over 15 million copies worldwide making it the band's best selling album. "Adam's Song" caused a stir in 2000 when it was set to replay indefinitely on a stereo as 17-year-old Greg Barnes hanged himself in the garage of his family's home.[10] Demos for the album were leaked as the Enema of the State Demo. It consists of eight demo recordings of some album tracks, plus an instrumental titled "Life's So Boring" which did not make the album.
In 2000, the band released The Urethra Chronicles, a DVD which features behind-the-scenes information, and The Mark, Tom, and Travis Show (The Enema Strikes Back!), Blink-182's sole live album, featuring songs from their three full-length records, including all their greatest hits coupled with previously unreleased material. The album quickly went out of print. The album also included one new studio song, "Man Overboard", among the live renditions. A demo of this song was previously featured on the Enema of the State Demo cassette.
[edit]Take Off Your Pants and Jacket and Blink-182: 2001–04
The band continued its commercial success with Take Off Your Pants and Jacket in 2001, which was a small change from their direction in Enema of the State. The album sold more than 350,000 copies in the first week. It contains the hit singles "The Rock Show", "First Date" and "Stay Together for the Kids", while "Anthem Part 2" also received radio airplay. The album has sold approximately 4.5 million records worldwide, while going double platinum in the US. The album was released on three different CDs: yellow, red and green versions, each one featuring two unique bonus tracks. A European tour in winter 2001 was delayed in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks. Rescheduled dates in early 2002 were also canceled due to DeLonge's back problems.
In 2002 while after taking some time off from Blink-182, DeLonge and Barker released a new album with their side-project Box Car Racer.[11]
Blink-182 co-headlined the Pop Disaster Tour with Green Day in 2002.[12] The tour was documented on the DVD Riding in Vans with Boys. The band made a cameo appearance on the 300th episode of The Simpsons playing "All the Small Things" at a party held in Tony Hawk's loft.

Recording of the band's next record began in early 2003. On November 18, 2003, they released their eponymous fifth studio album, which spawned the hit singles "Feeling This", "I Miss You", "Down" and "Always". According to Barker, the album was supposed to represent a "new" Blink-182.[13] Robert Smith, whose band The Cure is often cited as a major influence, appeared on "All of This".
In November 2003, the band embarked on the "DollaBill" tour, named for the ticket cost of $1 each. They played ten club shows throughout the US and one in Canada.[14] Blink-182 toured with No Doubt in the summer of 2004.[15]
[edit]Hiatus and solo projects: 2005–08
Tensions between the band members arose when DeLonge found the desire for a half-year respite from touring to spend time with his family, despite a planned spring U.S. tour, coupled with Hoppus' feelings of betrayal after the formation of Box Car Racer. Further problems arose in discussions regarding the band's future recording endeavors. In mid-February 2005 the band inexplicably canceled a performance at Music for Relief's Concert for South Asia (a show put on by Linkin Park to aid victims of the devastating 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake). This made their previous show on December 16, 2004 at the Point Depot in Dublin, Ireland, their last live performance. The planned tour was canceled and on February 22, 2005, after much tension, their band manager called Hoppus and Barker to tell them that DeLonge had quit the band.[16] After this Blink-182 announced an indefinite hiatus.
After the break-up bandmembers embarked on other projects. DeLonge's new band, Angels & Airwaves, released three albums: We Don't Need to Whisper (2006), I-Empire (2007) and LOVE (2010). Hoppus and Barker's new project +44 released their first album When Your Heart Stops Beating on November 14, 2006. Unlike Angels & Airwaves, it is not known if +44 will release anymore material in the future.
Geffen Records released a Greatest Hits compilation on November 1, 2005. It is essentially a collection of the band's singles. After many criticisms about the track listing from disappointed fans, the song "Carousel" was added. A previously unreleased track was included on the CD, "Another Girl, Another Planet" (a cover song originally by The Only Ones). The song was also used as the theme song to Barker's new reality TV show, Meet the Barkers. Also included was the previously issued "I Miss You" B-side and Blink-182 UK bonus track "Not Now". The album reached number 6 on the Billboard 200 in the United States.[17]
On August 21, 2008, Jerry Finn (Blink-182's producer) died of a cerebral hemorrhage.[18] This would later be one of the catalysts for all the members of Blink-182 communicating again in September 2008, which would be the first time Tom would communicate with his bandmates in over three years.
Travis Barker barely survived a plane crash on September 21, 2008, after performing an event with Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell. Adam Goldstein (better known as DJ AM) and Barker were the sole survivors. Barker sustained second and third degree burns on his lower body and torso and expected to recover within a year. While in the hospital, Mark Hoppus and former bandmate Tom DeLonge visited, allowing the band to reconcile and patch up their differences.
[edit]Reformation and sixth studio album: 2009–present
At the 51st Grammy Awards ceremony on February 8, 2009, all three members of the band appeared onstage for the first time since December 2004.[5] Barker announced the band's reformation, stating that "we used to play music together, and we decided we're going to play music together again," with Hoppus adding, "Blink-182 is back!" A message appearing on the band's website the same day confirmed the reformation and added that the band was in the studio writing and recording a new album and preparing for a world tour.[5] The band also updated their "smiley face" logo to feature six arrows instead of the previous five.[19]
During an interview after their reunion announcement, Travis confirmed that they had been in the studio since December 2008 writing and recording new material. Each member had brought in their own musical ideas and songs, while also writing new material together. Blink 182 also revisited older demos they had written in 2004, before they went on indefinite hiatus.[20] A new single, titled "Up All Night," has been announced for the new album. On January 25, Tom DeLonge stated that blink-182 was in discussion to release a new album in 2011.[21][22] On January 26, however, Hoppus stated via Twitter that 2011 is "too far away" and will do everything he can do to release the new album in 2010. [23]
The summer tour was at first mentioned during the reformation, though no concrete information was given until April 7, 2009 when website buzznet.com stated that Weezer would be supporting Blink-182 on their upcoming tour. The May 28, 2009 issue of Rolling Stone magazine later added Fall Out Boy, in addition to Weezer, as an opener for the tour.[24] Official tour dates were announced on May 15, 2009 on Billboard.com; the tour lasted from July 23 in Las Vegas, Nevada and ended on October 3 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. [25] In December 2009, Hoppus announced that the trio will embark on a European tour in Summer 2010.[26][27]

Blink 182's musical style has been described by various sources as "pop punk",[28][29][30] "punk rock",[31][32][33] "punk revival",[34] and "skate punk".[8] The band have particularly been cited for their influence on contemporary pop punk music.[4] Bill Lamb of About.com described the bands sound as being, "marked by a radio-friendly sheen, but it still maintains much of the speed and attitude of classic punk rock".[35] Tom DeLonge cites punk rock bands Descendents and Screeching Weasel as influences,[36] although the band's songwriting and production are driven by a pop sensibility. They typically combine elements of punk rock with pop music, to varying degrees, as is most pop punk. Blink-182 is known for their simple melodies, teen angst and lyrical toilet humor. They often targeting subjects such as love and growing up. These being fused into multiple hit singles such as "Dammit", "What's My Age Again?", "All the Small Things", "Adam's Song", "The Rock Show", "First Date", "Stay Together for the Kids", "Feeling This", and "I Miss You". When playing live, the band typically play their songs at a faster tempo and often replace certain lyrics with toilet humor and various gags.[37]

Blink-182 made a cameo appearance in the 1999 comedy hit movie American Pie. They appear in a scene while they're interrupted rehearsing to see a webcast on a computer. Mark, Tom, and Travis all feature in the scene, along with a fake extra band member. In the movie credits, drummer Travis Barker is wrongly credited as former Blink-182 drummer Scott Raynor, even though Raynor left the band a year earlier in 1998. Also, when their song "Mutt" is credited, Travis Barker's name is misspelled as "Travis Barkor".
In 1999 the band appeared at the end of the 2nd episode of season 3 of Two Guys and a Girl, "Au Revoir, Pizza Place", in the episode they perform "What's My Age Again?" in the nude at a party at the pizza place, this is the last time the pizza place is featured in the show.
In 2001, Mark Hoppus' sister released a book about the genesis of the band entitled Blink-182: Tales From Beneath Your Mom.[38] As of 2006, another book has been in the works. Before Travis Barker's plane crash his assistant Chris Baker was helping with the project. In February 2009, Chris Holmes wrote on his blog disclaiming that the book "is so un-official"[39]
In 2003, the band appeared on an episode of The Simpsons, "Barting Over".
The band also performed a skit on Mad TV, "Leave it to Blink-182".
The band is also working on a documentary movie, currently titled The Blinkumentary, about their recent reformation and reunion tour. On August 26, 2009, an official trailer for the documentary was posted on the production company's official Youtube page.[40] A second trailer appeared on November 7, 2009,[41] and then a third trailer appeared on January 10th 2010.[42]
Blink-182 is one of the bands to be featured in a documentary about modern punk music. The film, entitled One Nine Nine Four, was due to be released in 2009 but has been delayed. Professional skateboarder Tony Hawk will narrate the film, which will also feature other punk acts such as Rancid, Bad Religion, Green Day, NOFX, and The Offspring.[43]

Blink-182 has had the most success at the Teen Choice Awards, winning three awards: Choice Rock Group (2000) and Best Rock Group (2001) for the band, and Choice Love Song (2004) for the song "I Miss You". "All the Small Things", a single from the band's Enema of the State album, received three nominations from the MTV Video Music Awards in 2000: Video of the Year, Best Pop Video, and Best Group Video, which it won. After being expelled from Poway High School, Tom DeLonge attended Rancho Bernardo High School where he became friends with Anne Hoppus. DeLonge often expressed wanting to be in a band, so in August 1992 Anne introduced him to her brother Mark Hoppus, who also wanted to be in a band.[6] The two played for hours in DeLonge's garage, showing each other songs they had previously written, and writing new songs together. One of these songs would eventually become what is now "Carousel".[7] That night the two decided they needed to officially start a band, so DeLonge recruited friend Scott Raynor, who he had met at his school's Battle of the Bands competition. The three began playing together and called themselves Duck Tape, until DeLonge thought of the name Blink.[7]
The band practiced constantly, which angered Hoppus's girlfriend.[7] She told him he had to choose between the band and her, so he left the band just as it was starting. DeLonge then informed Hoppus that he borrowed a 4-track from a friend and he and Raynor were using it to make a demo tape. Upon hearing this, Hoppus decided he would leave his girlfriend and return to the band.
In May 1993, the band recorded their first demo tape Flyswatter in Raynor's bedroom. A 4-track was used to record the material, which resulted in poor sound quality. According to Hoppus, only a small number of demos were released, primarily to their family and friends.[citation needed] The same year, the band recorded another demo tape, this one untitled and known simply as Demo #2. It featured re-recordings of a few Flyswatter songs, and also included new songs, some of which would go on to be re-recorded and re-released on the band's albums Buddha, Cheshire Cat, and Dude Ranch. Buddha was released on cassette in 1993 with around 1,000 copies of the tape produced by Filter Records, an independent record company headed by Hoppus's boss. It was remastered and re-released on Kung Fu Records in 1998 (with three of the original tracks omitted and two new tracks added).

Blink 182's musical style has been described by various sources as "pop punk",[28][29][30] "punk rock",[31][32][33] "punk revival",[34] and "skate punk".[8] The band have particularly been cited for their influence on contemporary pop punk music.[4] Bill Lamb of About.com described the bands sound as being, "marked by a radio-friendly sheen, but it still maintains much of the speed and attitude of classic punk rock".[35] Tom DeLonge cites punk rock bands Descendents and Screeching Weasel as influences,[36] although the band's songwriting and production are driven by a pop sensibility. They typically combine elements of punk rock with pop music, to varying degrees, as is most pop punk. Blink-182 is known for their simple melodies, teen angst and lyrical toilet humor. They often targeting subjects such as love and growing up. These being fused into multiple hit singles such as "Dammit", "What's My Age Again?", "All the Small Things", "Adam's Song", "The Rock Show", "First Date", "Stay Together for the Kids", "Feeling This", and "I Miss You". When playing live, the band typically play their songs at a faster tempo and often replace certain lyrics with toilet humor and various gags.[37]

Blink-182 made a cameo appearance in the 1999 comedy hit movie American Pie. They appear in a scene while they're interrupted rehearsing to see a webcast on a computer. Mark, Tom, and Travis all feature in the scene, along with a fake extra band member. In the movie credits, drummer Travis Barker is wrongly credited as former Blink-182 drummer Scott Raynor, even though Raynor left the band a year earlier in 1998. Also, when their song "Mutt" is credited, Travis Barker's name is misspelled as "Travis Barkor".
In 1999 the band appeared at the end of the 2nd episode of season 3 of Two Guys and a Girl, "Au Revoir, Pizza Place", in the episode they perform "What's My Age Again?" in the nude at a party at the pizza place, this is the last time the pizza place is featured in the show.
In 2001, Mark Hoppus' sister released a book about the genesis of the band entitled Blink-182: Tales From Beneath Your Mom.[38] As of 2006, another book has been in the works. Before Travis Barker's plane crash his assistant Chris Baker was helping with the project. In February 2009, Chris Holmes wrote on his blog disclaiming that the book "is so un-official"[39]
In 2003, the band appeared on an episode of The Simpsons, "Barting Over".
The band also performed a skit on Mad TV, "Leave it to Blink-182".
The band is also working on a documentary movie, currently titled The Blinkumentary, about their recent reformation and reunion tour. On August 26, 2009, an official trailer for the documentary was posted on the production company's official Youtube page.[40] A second trailer appeared on November 7, 2009,[41] and then a third trailer appeared on January 10th 2010.[42]
Blink-182 is one of the bands to be featured in a documentary about modern punk music. The film, entitled One Nine Nine Four, was due to be released in 2009 but has been delayed. Professional skateboarder Tony Hawk will narrate the film, which will also feature other punk acts such as Rancid, Bad Religion, Green Day, NOFX, and The Offspring.[43]

Blink-182 has had the most success at the Teen Choice Awards, winning three awards: Choice Rock Group (2000) and Best Rock Group (2001) for the band, and Choice Love Song (2004) for the song "I Miss You". "All the Small Things", a single from the band's Enema of the State album, received three nominations from the MTV Video Music Awards in 2000: Video of the Year, Best Pop Video, and Best Group Video, which it won. Overall, Blink-182 has received seven awards from ten nominations.

Setelah Soulmate Travis barker ( DJ AM ) meninggal dunia, sekarang giliran Travis barker meninggal dunia. Beberapa bulan yang lalu travis barker digosipkan meninggal karena OD ( over dosis ) adalah tidak benar, tetapi mungkin itu adalah suatau pertanda bahwa travis barker akan mengakhiri perjalanan karirnya untuk selama-lamanya.

Kejadian Desember 07 2009, 22.30 , bermula saat dia pulang konser di California, karena dia sangat lelah dan berkeringat, dia langsung saja menjuju bathroom dan mandi, tanpa dia sadari dia lupa mencabut colokan listrik radio yang ada di perutnya. Karena suasana rumah saat itu sepi dan anak2 nya sudah tidur, Travis barker tersetrum dan tidak dapat tertolong lagi..Travis Barker ditemukan keesokan pagi nya dengan radio gosong yang ada di perut nya.

Anggur (atau juga populer disebut dalam bahasa Inggris: wine) adalah minuman beralkohol yang dibuat dari sari anggur jenis Vitis vinifera yang biasanya hanya tumbuh di area 30 hingga 50 derajat lintang utara dan selatan. Minuman beralkohol yang dibuat dari sari buah lain yang kadar alkoholnya berkisar di antara 8% hingga 15% biasanya disebut sebagai wine buah (fruit wine).
Anggur dibuat melalui fermentasi gula yang ada di dalam buah anggur. Ada beberapa jenis minuman anggur yaitu, Red Wine, White Wine, Rose Wine, Sparkling Wine, Sweet Wine, dan Fortified Wine:
* Red Wine adalah wine yang dibuat dari anggur merah (red grapes). Beberapa jenis anggur merah yang terkenal di kalangan peminum wine di Indonesia adalah merlot, cabernet sauvignon, syrah/shiraz, dan pinot noir.
* White Wine adalah wine yang dibuat dari anggur putih (white grape). Beberapa jenis anggur hijau yang terkenal di kalangan peminum wine di Indonesia adalah chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, semillon, riesling, dan chenin blanc.
* Rose Wine adalah wine yang berwarna merah muda atau merah jambu yang dibuat dari anggur merah namun dengan proses ekstraksi warna yang lebih singkat dibandingkan dengan proses pembuatan Red Wine. Di daerah Champagne, kata Rose Wine mengacu pada campuran antara White Wine dan Red Wine.
* Sparkling Wine adalah wine yang mengandung cukup banyak gelembung karbon dioksida di dalamnya. Sparkling Wine yang paling terkenal adalah Champagne dari Prancis. Hanya Sparkling Wine yang dibuat dari anggur yang tumbuh di desa Champagne dan diproduksi di desa Champagne yang boleh disebut dan diberi label Champagne.
* Sweet Wine adalah wine yang masih banyak mengandung gula sisa hasil fermentasi (residual sugar) sehingga membuat rasanya menjadi manis.
* Fortified Wine adalah wine yang mengandung alkohol lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan wine biasa (antara 15% hingga 20.5%). Kadar alkohol yang tinggi ini adalah hasil dari penambahan spirit pada proses pembuatannya.
Manusia telah membuat minuman anggur sejak sekitar lima ribu tahun yang lalu.
Anggur adalah minuman yang populer di banyak negara. Negara-negara yang penduduknya meminum anggur paling banyak (menggunakan data tahun 2000) adalah: Perancis, Italia, Amerika Serikat, Jerman, Spanyol, Argentina, Britania Raya, Republik Rakyat Cina, Rusia, dan Rumania.
